1st Grade ILA@ESE Student Advances to State in PTA Reflections Art Contest

Jacob Santiago-Cordero's Reflections entry, Protecting Others, has advanced to state-level judging! This is a wonderful achievement as nearly 60,000 students participate in the program annually and less than 3% of those advance to Texas PTA. Final results will be announced on March 15 via the Texas PTA website.

The ESE PTA hosted an art contest as part of the Reflections program. Students created a piece of art in any of the following six categories: 

I Matter Because PTA Reflections 2020

•    Dance Choreography
•    Film Production
•    Literature
•    Music Composition
•    Photography
•    Visual Arts
The art must reflect the theme: “I Matter Because…” 

From the 10 entries, the following eight advanced to the district-level competition:
