Message From Mr. Short
Here are a couple of things coming up that you need to know about!
First, on Friday January 25, Asa Low will host our 10th Annual Space Night! This is an event that is planned and sponsored by our Science Department and is an opportunity for our students to learn more about all things Space! Space Night is a "come and go" event that will take place from 6:00-8:00pm! There are plenty of hands on games and activities for families to enjoy (while they are actually learning the science involved). Here are some of the activities that we currently have planned: Telescopes – if it’s not cloudy, Paper Rocket Launching, Breakout boxes, Breakout room, Mars VR, Aerology, Rover Races, Mars Quakes, Plus much, much more!!! We will also have food for you to try, including: Space Walking Tacos, cupcakes, popcorn, water, alien tongues (pickles). This is a family friendly event and all of our students and their families are invited to attend! Please make plans to come by on Friday January 25 and spend a little time with us during Space Night! We look forward to seeing you!
Speaking of Space Night…I know order forms went home for Space Night T-Shirts and you were told that the order forms were due back Monday. Since this was such short notice, we are extending the deadline for students to turn in their order forms until Tuesday, January 15. We will take T-Shirt orders after Tuesday, but those orders cannot be guaranteed.
If you have any questions regarding Space Night and/or Space Night T-Shirts, please contact either Patricia Londono or Caitlin Miller.
Secondly, Asa Low Drone Club coming soon! We need parents who have experience with drones and would be willing to assist the club sponsors. We would like volunteers to help teach students about drones and how to fly them responsibly within the confines of the law. If interested please contact Mrs. Londono. We look forward to hearing from you.
